Lisa Ladouceur is a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner. She is a highly skilled career professional with over 37 years of nursing experience with the last 20 years as a primary health care nurse practitioner. Since March of 2020 she has managed the Midland Covid 19 Assessment Center and has seen the clinic embrace online booking, lab automation and point of care testing. As of January 2021 she will transition back to her primary care practice but will remain as the Midland Covid 19 Assessment Center Medical Lead.
As an RN(EC) she has advanced knowledge and decision-making in health assessment, diagnosis, therapeutics (including pharmacological, complementary and counseling interventions), and health care management. She is skilled in computer documentation as well as managing heavy daily patient volume, appointment scheduling, and client referral.
Her accolades include the Robert Hartog award in 2020, Honourable Mention for the Nightingale Award in 2011 and 2017 and the Exceptional People Award in 2010 due to her caring, inclusive method of delivering the highest quality of care.

Outpost Nursing – Traveling to isolated Native Indian communities by plane to provide primary and emergent care in Northern Ontario. When services require acute care patients were transferred out to tertiary care facilities via air transport.

Medical Directive Development – Working with the collaborating physician and the Nurse Practitioner in the development of medical directives to advance the collaborative relationship and benefit the care provided to clients by expanding and utilizing the skills and expertise of the Nurse Practitioner.
Chart Reviews and Audits of RN(EC) - Utilizing facilities chart audit tools and providing a written evaluation of audit to aid the Nurse Practitioner in advancement of practice for the safety and care of clients.

The Nursing Act gives nurses who meet certain conditions the authority to initiate specific controlled acts. This means that they may independently decide that a specific procedure is required and initiate it in the absence of a direct order or directive.
